Miriam Stewart and Tony Tost
@ in your ear @ DCAC
Please join the In Your Ear Poetry Series for readings by Miriam Stewart and Tony Tost on Sunday, November 19th at 3:00PM.

Miriam Stewart dreams of many things. She dreams of living in Paris with her future husband, This American Life host Ira Glass. She dreams of suddenly being able to play the cello at a virtuosic level with no practice or formal training. She dreams of living in a Buddhist temple and being like a reed in the wind. When not dreaming, she works as a tutor, a proofreader, a childbirth coach, and a research assistant and risk reduction counselor at the Johns Hopkins Pediatric HIV Clinic. When not dreaming or working, she reads and writes and fills out medical school applications. She recently completed a series of collaborative performances with pianist Einav Yarden featuring original poems read alongside the musical pieces that inspired them.

Tony Tost is the author of Invisible Bride, winner of the 2003 Walt Whitman Award. His second full length collection, Complex Sleep, is forthcoming from University of Iowa Press in 2007. His poems appear in recent issues of Hambone, Talisman, Denver Quarterly, Mandorla and LVNG. He is also the editor of the online journal Fascicle and lives with his wife Leigh in Durham, North Carolina, where he is working on a Ph.D. in English.
