A fabulous opening weekend of poetry in DC continues with the following can't-miss event:

Please join us on Sunday, September 15th at 3 p.m. at the DC Arts Center (2438 18th Street in Adams Morgan, just south of Columbia Rd. on the west side of the street) for the In Year Ear reading series 2002-2003 season kickoff.

We are pleased to announce that we're starting off with El Bang Grande: BOB PERELMAN & ROD SMITH.

BOB PERELMAN is the author of numerous books of poems, most recently Ten to One: Selected Poems (Wesleyan), and two critical books, most recently The Marginalization of Poetry (Princeton). Playing Bodies, a collaboration with painter Francie Shaw, will come out from Granary next year. He teaches at the University of Pennsylvania.

ROD SMITH is the author of In Memory of My Theories (O Books), The Boy Poems (BDB), Protective Immediacy (Roof), New Mannerist Tricycle with Lisa Jarnot and Bill Luoma, (Beautiful Swimmer), & Music or Honesty (forthcoming from Roof). The Good House, a long poem, was recently published by Spectacular Books. His work has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies including Anthology of New American Poets, The Baffler, The Gertrude Stein Awards, New American Writing, Open City, Shenandoah, and The Washington Review. He edits Aerial magazine, publishes Edge Books, & manages Bridge Street Books in Washington, DC.
