We are very pleased to shake off the dust and sweat of summer and begin a new season of poetry readings this Saturday, September 10, 7:30 pm at Washington Printmakers Gallery (1732 Connecticut Ave, second floor, between R and S Streets, several blocks north of the Dupont Circle Q Street Metro exit).

This month the Ruthless Grip Poetry Series features THE TINY IN
DC. Gina Myers and Gabriella Torres, editors of the new Brooklyn-
based magazine _The Tiny_, introduce recent contributors Erica
Kaufman, Shafer Hall, Maureen Thorson & Mark Lamoureux.

ERICA KAUFMAN is originally from bloomington, indiana, but if you ask her she will claim to be a new york native. that is where she lives and has a few jobs and co-curates the belladonna* reading series/small press. erica is the author of from the two coat syndrome (bokubooks, 2004) and the kickboxer suite (boog literature, 2004). she is also the winner of the 2003 New School University Chapbook Contest and her chapbook, a familiar album will be out this winter. her poems can also be found in puppyflowers, painted bride quarterly, bombay gin, the mississippi review, among other places. she likes dogs and mild weather.

SHAFER HALL is a Texan poet and bartender living in Brooklyn. He is the curator of the Frequency reading series, an associate editor for Painted Bride Quaterly, and the editor of an anthology of poems about tigers which is forthcoming. His work has appeared in many journals including Unpleasant Event Schedule

MAUREEN THORSON is an attorney living in Washington, D.C. Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Exquisite Corpse, Painted Bride Quarterly, and the Hat. She enjoys non-alcoholic beer and staying out of trouble.

MARK LAMOUREUX's work has appeared or is forthcoming in print in The Denver Quarterly, Rattapallax, Circumference, Jubilat, Lungfull!, 6x6, Carve, Fulcrum, Agni, LIT, and others and online places such as sonaweb.net, Shampoo and The Muse Apprentice Guild. His chapbooks include City/Temple (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2003), 29 Cheeseburgers (Pressed Wafer, 2004). and Film Poems (Katalanche Press, 2005 ). His is also the managing editor of Fulcrum Annual.
