@ Ruthless Grip
We hope you can join us at on Saturday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Washington Printmakers Gallery (1732 Connecticut Ave., second floor, on Connecticut between R and S, several blocks north of the Dupont Circle Q Street Metro exist) for the last Ruthless Grip reading series Saturday night event of the season, a reading featuring TINA DARRAGH and BARBARA HENNING.
Tina Darragh has been a DC poet for over 30 years. She will be reading from her "opposable dumbs" project which owes much to living and writing in DC, and "opposable dumbs: a play" will be performed. Her most recent book is dream rim instructions (Drogue Press, 1999).
Some of Barbara Henning's books of poetry include Love Makes Thinking Dark (United Artists) and Detective Sentences. She's also written two novels, You, Me & the Insects will be released in the Fall from Spuyten Duyvil. In the last year, she has combined photography with prose poetry, producing a series of artist books. In the early 90's, she was the editor of Long News: In the Short Century, an international journal of art and writing. She lives in the East Vilalge and teaches at Long Island University in Brooklyn.
To meet gallery costs, Washington Printmakers readings have a $3 cover, which can be waived for anyone who really needs it.
