Jordan Davis and Buck Downs
@ Ruthless Grip
We hope you can join us for Saturday, February 9 at 7:30 p.m. for the next reading at The Ruthless Grip Poetry Series at Washington Printmakers Gallery (1732 Connecticut Ave. second floor, several blocks north of the Dupont Circle Q Street Metro exit) for a reading by BUCK DOWNS and JORDAN DAVIS. No doubt about it--this one's going to be lively, thrilling, and will undoubtedly offer many great suprises.

Buck Downs is the author of Marijuana Softdrink (Edge Books), Office Products, Emo Jones.county, and many other fugitive or not so fugitive works of poetry. His postcard poem series earned him a feature as a local poet in The Washington City Paper. New poems will soon be appearing in The Gig, Van Gogh's Ear, and
canwehaveourballback.com. He eddited and wrote the introduction for An After School Session with Brett Evans, a collection of poems forthcoming from subpress. Buck is one of everybody's favorite DC poets for a reason--if you don't know why, here's your
chance to find out.

Jordan Davis is one of the sharpest of New York City's younger poets, combining a sophisticated awareness with an ear and eye for the simple, direct statement that's more insightful than any of us were prepared for. "Jordan Davis's resolute focus results in
phenomenal poem," writes Susan Wheeler. And David Shapiro says that his poetry is "alert, startling, discerning, and strange." Among his many publications, scheduled for 2002 are _A Winter Magazine_ from Situations and _Million Poems Journal_ from Faux Press. He lives in Manhattan, near the Cloisters.

We hope to see you there and for all festivities afterwards.
