Eileen Myles
@ Ruthless Grip
We hope you can join us on Saturday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. for what promises to be an absolutely great evening to close out the season of the Ruthless Grip Poetry Series at Washington Printmakers (1732 Connecticut Ave. NW, second floor, several blocks north of the Dupont Circle Q Street Meto exit). The featured reader will be EILEEN MYLES.
Eileen Myles lives in New York City and is a poet, novelist, and short story writer. Her most recent books of poetry are Skies and On My Way. Her novel Cool for You came out last year. She ran the St. Mark's Poetry Project from 1984-86. In 1992 she conducted an openly female write-in campaign for President of the U.S.
Of her most recent book, Skies, The Village Voice wrote: "Eileen Myles has it all--the moxie for politics, the lyric zeal that satisfies both the avant-gardists and the downtown populists, and the anarchic post-feminist energy that has inspired legions of baby dykes to vent in front of the mic."
But that's only the start of it--if you want to know the rest, you'll have to join us.
The reading is free, but donations will be accepted.
We hope you can join us to close out the season, and for all festivities afterwards!
